Frequently Asked Questions
What instrumentation is in The Tiffany Jazz Trio?
Our most common configuration is voice, upright bass and guitar. That said, we are happy to include any instrumentation you like! We often perform as a quartet (adding saxophone, keyboard, drums or trumpet) or as a duo (voice and guitar). We also offer solo cello and string duos/trios.
Does the band provide the sound system?
Yes, we provide a sound system which we tailor to suit your venue and the number of guests in attendance (up to 250 guests, one room only). For large scale events we are also happy to coordinate with the venue's AV team.
Will the band take set breaks?
Yes, typically the band will take a set break of 10 to 15 minutes for every 45 to 50 minutes of performing. That said, we are flexible and will certainly coordinate our breaks in such a way that will best suit the overall scheduling and flow of your event.
Will the band take special song requests?
Our repertoire consists of an expansive list of classic jazz standards and swing tunes. Please check out our ever growing song list. We are also happy to learn up to two specific song requests (made at least 4 weeks prior to the event) for special moments such as ceremony, first dance, etc.
When will the musicians set-up their equipment?
We arrive and set-up to play approx. 45 minutes prior to performance unless otherwise requested.
Does the band have performers liability insurance?
Yes we do! We are insured for up to two million dollars. Many establishments require the entertainment to have insurance in order to perform at the venue.
What do I need to do to confirm a booking?
We ask for a 25% deposit along with a signed contract.
What do you need from me?
We require one armless chair (for the guitarist), access to an electrical outlet and an approx. 5X7 ft. or larger performance area. If the band is performing outdoors we require protection from sun and rain. For events longer than three hours we request a vendor meal to be provided for the band.
